ARSENAL STAR REACTS TO KAKA COMPARISON
January 25, 2022
Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has reacted well to the comparison made between him and compatriot Kaka who’s a football icon. On being compared to Brazilian football legend Kaka, Martinelli told Stadium Astro that it’s an honour. Speaking further, the Arsenal star pointed out the need to work hard to get to the next level.
Brazilian attacker Martinelli didn’t start this season in the starting XI but he has been able to force his way into the team in recent weeks. The forward seized his opportunity when he came on as a second half substitute for the injured Bukayo Saka during the league clash with Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium last month. Martinelli doubled the lead for the Gunners who secured a 2-0 home win over the struggling Magpies. The aforementioned Saka started the scoring in the second half before Martinelli sealed the victory at the expense of Newcastle United.
Martinelli is one of the form players in the Premier League after netting three goals in the last two games as far as the competition is concerned. He was on target with the first goal of the game against West Ham United in the London Derby before Emile Smith-Rowe came off the bench to score a second goal and secure a 2-0 home win over the Hammers. All the goals were scored in the second half against a West Ham United team who finished the game with ten men after the red card to Czech right-sided defenderVladimir Coufalin the second half. Martinelli made it three goals in two league games with a brace in the 4-1 away win over Leeds United at the weekend.
