Manchester City have received a boost in their race to sign Olympique Lyon star Houssem Aouar, according to reports in France. The midfielder is expected to be sold in the summer with several clubs interested in his services.

French side PSG had been thought as a major destination for the player but France Football claims that the Paris club have dropped out of the race for the midfielder. The capital club was the only club to have shown real interest in the player.

Aouar has told close associates that he was going to join PSG at the end of the season. But the capital club has made a U turn and they have switched attention to other priorities. Reports emerged last week that Chelsea football club could sell world cup winner N’golo Kante.

The reports about the availability of the former Leicester City man has made PSG to change priority. Since the news of Kante broke, there have been a lot of reactions about his next move. Former Real Madrid and Brazil player Kaka stated that Kante is a top player and he can play for any top team in the world.

With PSG switching their attention to Kanye, it leaves Juventus and Manchester City to battle it out for the creative midfielder. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas recently hinted that the player could be on his way from the club. He revealed that for Aouar they have not received any proposal or even request at the moment. But he admitted that indeed many clubs are interested in him.

Manchester City have the financial power and appeal to sign the midfielder and it remains to be seen if a bid would be submitted for his services.
