KAKA FOCUSSED ON VALENCIA

Real Madrid midfielder Kaka has said that the only focus of the club should be the league match against Valencia during the weekend following which they will be taking on Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final. Real Madrid qualified for the semifinals of the European competition after beating Cyprus side APOEL 8-2 on aggregate.

They will be facing Bayern Munich and the away match will be played first. A chance to play in the Champions League final after a gap of 10 years reckons for Real Madrid, but Kaka says that the league match against Valencia should be the first focus.

This is because Barcelona have caught up with them in the league. Previously, Real Madrid had an unassailable 10 point advantage at the top of the table, which has now been reduced to just six points. As they will be travelling to the Camp Nou to face a game against Barcelona in a matter of a few weeks, Kaka has said that Real Madrid should maintain their advantage at the top of the table by focusing on winning the match in hand against Valencia. Real Madrid’s lead at the top of the table might be reduced to just three points if results go against them this weekend.

“We must only think about our game against Valencia now. That’s our most important match right now because we have a six-point lead over Barcelona in the league and we want to keep it that way,” Kaka told betfair.com.

The return of the midfielder to the first-team action has coincided with a significant improving the Champions League form for the club. He scored a wonderful goal against APOEL to remind people about his abilities, which persuaded Real Madrid to pay £ 64 million for his services a few years ago.

Real are the favourites to get past Bayern according to the latest Betfair Champions League odds, but will need luck on their side as well as talent if they are going to make it through past the German champions.
